Is there a way to pick out meals from different groups and get one shopping list??
not sure if there’s an easier way, i look through the recipe books, then search it up in the search button and add it to my shopping cart.
Can’t stand kale! How would spinach be as a substitute?
Sounds good to me!
I swap out spinach with kale a lot. I add the spinach at the end and just stir until the spinach is wilted. A lot of my culinary students who hated spinach now like it when it is cooked this way.
It works. I like to use a combination of baby kale & spinach for a lot of recipes
hi !! love your recipes !! no fancy ingredients I never heard of lol thats the kind of recipes I like !! can I put frozen chicken breast in my bag after the veggies or does it have to be fresh ! right now I want to use what I have in the freezer !! with Christmas coming up do yu have any Turkey soup recipes so I can use up my turkey leftovers !! Thanks
I’m making this recipe today. Can you please tell me where the label is for it?
Thanks
Cher
As a new member I wish each label was attached to the recipe so that when you printed the recipe you could also print the label instead of searching for it or having to write a label. Some I can find but it’s kind of a pain to have to spend the time searching for the labels via the cookbook pdfs etc 🙂
Maybe use a Sharpie?
Also a new member. After using other apps that import the shopping list into instacart, this is challenging. Also, I can’t edit the shopping list to add/chage items or adjust quantities. Sorry, it just feels like I’m stepping back in time a little bit in terms of ease of use.
How long would you cook this one in the instant pot?
where did you get the labels you for the freezer bags?
Hello –
Sounds delicious! I would like to know how to find the label as well. Thank you!
Kelly has said that providing labels to print with each meal is something they’re hoping to implement. In the meantime, I just take a large address label, write the name of the meal, the “use by” date, slap it on the bag, and freeze. I created a “Family Freezer Meal Folder” containing all the recipes I’ve cooked so far. When I want to cook a freezer meal, I just refer to the cooking instructions there. Even my kids know the drill so they choose the meal they want from the freezer, defrost it in the sink for a bit, refer to our “Family Freezer Meal Folder” and get supper started!
Love this idea! Thanks for sharing it. Happening in my kitchen today.
Separate spices instead of “1 packet Italian salad dressing” would be preferable
Yes I agree, I never have this sort of thing and I would appreciate a herb mix option.
Hi, just wondering if your freezer meals, in general, could be vacuum sealed instead of put in ziplocks?
I can’t figure out where to find labels

how much is “1 packet Italian salad dressing”… what is a packet? is she referring to a bottle of dressing? how much of a bottle. Sorry confusing …
I think it’s supposed to be a packet of dry mix. I didn’t have that on hand so I substituted bottled dressing and I did not like the resulting meal. I thought this one sounded great and didn’t end up liking it. Could be the dressing, but it also had too many carrots (made it too sweet) and not enough beans to give it some substance.
Was excited to try this one but after measuring out the broth to add to the crockpot learned that my standard size crock pot was not large enough for 64oz of liquid. 😔I wish there were more notes up front to minimize day of issues like this.
I’m concerned about freezing raw veggies especially carrots. It can change the texture. Any feedback on this would be appreciated.
What can I use instead of italian salad dressing mix? I am gluten free and can’t have many pre-made packets. Do you have a recipe to make your own?
I don’t have a recipe on hand, but I’d use Italian seasoning – it should be the same flavor profile except that the dressing mix would include a bit of salt and sugar.
Everyone asking about Italian salad dressing pkg, just google it. There are recipes out there. That’s what I did.
